Asma bint Yazid (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The sleeves of the shirt of Messenger of Allah (PBUH) reached his wrists.[At-Tirmidhi]. Commentary: Wearing long clothes is commonly known to be a sign of arrogance. Moreover, such type of dress retreads physical movement, whereas short clothes cause inconvenience to the wearer in summer and winter. Moderation, therefore, is the best way and therefore, the Prophetic example. |
