Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went to bed hungry for several successive nights, nor did his family have a thing for supper for many consecutive nights; and their bread was mostly of barley.[At-Tirmidhi].
Commentary:
This Hadith also displays the asceticism and economic scantiness of the Prophet (PBUH) and his wives.
