Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not look at one who trails his lower garment, Qamees or turban arrogantly."[Abu Dawud and An-Nasai].
Commentary:
This Hadith tells us if trousers and pajamas, out of pride etc., hang loose below the ankles, the wearer will be committing a grave blunder. The excessive hang of shirt or turban out of pride is also a sign of arrogance and involves the wearer in a major sin. Wearing long garments without the intention of pride is disliked.
